Please Just Let Me Sleep

So, the first night with a newborn is exhausting - and don't let anyone tell you different. I had made the decision that I was going to nurse Alexandra so that means - feed on demand. Well - let me tell you - she did not always get it. So between her crying all night, me trying to feed her and the nursing walking in every two seconds to check a monitor for vitals - I was spent by the time 6am rolled around.

The morning sun brought a whole new crowd of visitors to the hospital. It was show time and Alexandra was in the mood to be shown off. First on the list, the proud new grandparents. Gamma was so excited when she found out we were having a girl - I don't think she will ever stop smiling. Oma just had her first granddaughter 10 weeks ago - cousin Hailey - so she was double excited now.

Aunt Becky came by to visit the new member of the family. After I had my shower, I started feeling a little better. The doctors were amazed at how well I was moving around - I was ready to go home and be in my own bed.

Grandpa and Abuela drove up from Miami to meet Alexandra with Jewel - Alexandra's Aunt. Everyone was amazed at how much hair Alexandra had and just at how perfect she was. She loved being held and really hardly cried - unless you set her down. So with only a few hours in this world - she was already completely spoiled.
