The First Day of the Rest of Our Lives

Today is the day we are going to have our first little Angel. We are scheduled for a C-section at 5:30pm. I have been patiently waiting for her arrival and we are a week past my due date. A sonogram a few days ago estimated Alexandra's weight to be over 10 pounds, so we opted for the C-section as the doctor recommended. I could not eat anything all day or have any water and my nerves where totally shot by the time they took me back. Daddy was going to go with me once I had my epidural. They gave me a little too much and I started feeling like I could not breathe. They started the C-section before Daddy got back there but he made it in time.

Alexandra was born at 5:35pm and weighed 7 pounds 10 oz and was 19 1/2 inches of pure perfection. A lot different than what they thought - over 10 pounds - but I was glad we opted for the c-section. She was perfect. Everyone was at the hospital for the big moment. I was overwhelmed with love and emotions. I never thought I would feel like this. Pure Perfection entered our lives today, from this moment forward, life would be different. We were now responsible for someone else.
