Park Time

We got together with the Britt Family today at the park. What fun we always have. Aubrey was Alexandra's first real "girlfriend" from daycare. They started playing together right away when Alexandra started at St Marks Ark at age 1. Aubrey no longer goes to daycare there but we stay in touch and try to get the girls together often, it does not always work that way. Jennifer, Danny, Aubrey, Anna and Alexandra meet us at the park and the girls all played together nicely. Despite not seeing each other for months - they pick right up like it has only been days. Alexandra loves her friend Aubrey - even if her face does not always show it!

Getting Hitched

Not me - I am already hitched. Aunt Stephanie and Jo got engaged today. We are so excited. We love Jo Jo so much! Welcome to the family! They went to dinner at Ruth's Chris and he popped the big question afterwards. Stephanie said he was acting weird during dinner and was really nervous and smiling a lot. He kept saying you know I love you and you know what I am doing. He pushed the table away and got down on his knee and said "will you marry me?" She laughed and said "YES". I think that is really cute - shows how much he loves Stephanie and Izzy. They are two lucky girls!

What a Great Helper

Alexandra loves to help Daddy with just about anything, but especially when it comes to working in the yard. Today Daddy wanted to clean out the flower beds in the front yard and put down some bark and new flowers. Alexandra was ready to help - she got her special kid gloves out - but on her garden shoes and was ready to go.

After all the hard work was done, they got to go for a special ride in the wheelbarrow. Anthony thought this was great, just wait till he gets a little older and has to be the one outside doing the work not just enjoying the fun!

Time to Panic

So, Daddy entered the NYC Marathon lottery - I mean really - what are the chances he would get in? Well, today was the big announcement broadcast. True to form, Robert was watching and anxiously awaiting to see if his name was called. He went out to the website only to find - HE WAS IN! Holy - how is he possibly going to prepare for a 26+ mile run in less than 7 months? Who knows, but I think it is time to panic. I am so nervous for him. He is just beside himself excited - good luck Daddy! This is going to be a day we will never forget - November 7th is the day Daddy completes his first Marathon - along with forty thousand other people.

Happy Easter!

We had a great Easter this year at Oma's house. Alexandra hunted for eggs while Anthony watched. Next year should be interesting, I can only imagine how much fighting we will have over who has more eggs.

Now We Sleep

We figured it out, the beach is how to invoke long naps. Anthony fell asleep instantly in the car seat and napped for hours and even Alexandra slept for longer than normal.

Fun in the Sun

Since we were in Cocoa Beach, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and take the kids to the beach. This was Anthony's first experience - and man did he love it. The first day, Daddy did not go with us because he had gone running in the morning. So Oma joined for some fun in the sun. Anthony is all about the walking now, of course he still prefers the "guided tour." He loved the feel of the sand in his toes. Alexandra was a little more cautious, forgetting that she had been to the beach a few times last year. After some coaching, she was finally willing to let go of my hand and let the "small waves" hit her feet. The big ones still made her a little nervous. By Sunday, when we went with Daddy, she was a real pro. She was running up and down the shoreline letting the water come up to her knees without holding anyone's hand. She was so proud of herself.

Pizza Anyone?

Easter weekend we went down to Oma's. Alexandra has been there for a whole week and it was time to pick her up, plus Daddy entered a pizza eating contest at our favorite pizza place in Cocoa Beach. He was determined that he was going to win the contest. The pizza pie is 30 inches and consists of 8 slices. The winner last year was able to eat 4 slices in 8 mins. Now keep in mind, that does not sound hard, but it is a 30inch pizza. So Robert was in the second "heat" - it is a surfing town. We watched the first round and let me tell you, I will never look at pizza the same again. It was so gross - people were dunking the pizza in water to help it go down. Nasty! Now Robert was up, on your mark, get set, go. Robert was about 1 slice into it when he started to feel sick He was able to finish 2 3/4 slices - not bad. The kid that won this year finished 4 slices and was probably 18 yrs old, max. Good Job Daddy!

Walk This Way Sir!

Well - today is the day! Anthony took his first step. Gamma babysat him last night and told me this morning that he took his first step. I thought it might have been a little exaggeration on her part, but low and below - I saw it happen. He was in the kitchen near Maverick's water bowls - one of his favorite places to play. I was telling him "no no" as he standing and playing in the water. He turned his body toward me and took three steps with the biggest smile on his face. I think that was the cutest I have ever seen him. Now I know that life as we know it is complete over - let the games begin ~ Anthony is walking!
